In particular, I study how unemployment assistance programs can be improved upon by detecting hidden characteristics of welfare recipients and assigning welfare policies accordingly.

I am a PhD Candidate in Analytics for Economics and Management at the University of Brescia.
My research activity is oriented on the empirical analysis of the relationship between fiscal policy and economic growth.

Vitor Castro

Vitor Castro joined the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University (UK) in December 2016 and has been teaching Corporate Finance, Research Communication and Applied Financial Economics.

Previously, he held posts as Lecturer (May 2009 – November 2016) and Teaching Assistant (October 2001 – April 2009) at the Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra (Portugal) where he thought Maths, Statistics and Econometrics. He was also a Research Assistant at the University of Minho (Portugal) from September 1999 to September 2001.

He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick (UK), a MSc in Economic Policy and an Undergraduate Degree in Economics both from the University of Minho (Portugal).

He has published several papers in peer reviewed international journals in the areas of Economics and Finance.

He is also co-author of a book on “Introduction to Econometrics”.

I am a Research Fellow at the European Institute for International Economic Relations (EIIW) at the Schumpeter School of Business and Economics, University of Wuppertal. Prior to joining the EIIW, I lectured at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences have participated in numerous research projects.

My research interests are in International Macroeconomics, Economic Policy and Financial Economics with a background in Applied Econometrics. In recent years I have done research on the impact of the Brexit and have investigated the link between macroeconomic factors and the equity market in crisis, pre- and post-crisis periods.

Patrick Chuard-Keller is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Saint Gallen is affiliated to the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research. He completed his undergraduate studies in economics at the University of Zurich in 2015 and worked two years as a research associate at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences at the Winterthur Institute for Health Economics. His main research interests lie in the realm of intergenerational mobility, education, labor, and health economics.
